Study and working visits for the year 2013

A Regional Conference was held on December 4th, 2013, in Pristina, Kosovo, "Cooperation in achieving the goal: Ombudsman institutions and judiciary bodies to protect human rights - best European practices and regional experiences," organized by Council of Europe Office in Pristina and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations in Kosovo.

At the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Prof. Enver Hasani, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President, Ms. Vitore Tusha, Member of the Court, and Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, paid an official visit to Pristina, in the framework of inauguration of the 4th Judicial Year of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, on October 14-15, 2013.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, and the Chief of Cabinet, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, took part in the International Conference on the topic “The European legal standards of the rule of law and the scope of discretion of powers in the member states of the Council of Europe,” which was held in Erevan, Armenia, on 3 – 5 July 2013.

The President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Director of Cabinet, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, took part in the workshop "Interaction of the Constitutional Court with ordinary courts,” which was held in Pristina on June 13th, 2013. The seminar was organized by the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Mission EULEX.

At the invitation of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Head of Cabinet Mr. Aleksandër Toma, took part in the seminar on "The control of Supreme Court decisions," which was held in Pristina on June 12th, 2013.

Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, a delegation from the Constitutional Court of Turkey, composed of Mr. Alparslan Altan, Vice-President, Mr. Hicabi Dursun, Mr. Celal Mümtaz Akinci, judges, and Mr. Ayhan Kiliç, Legal Adviser, paid a study visit in Albania.

The President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, attended the 15th International Congress of European and Comparative Constitutional Law, which was held in Regensburg, Germany, from 31st May – 1st June 2013.

From 22 to 24 May 2013, it was held in Berlin, the 16th International Judicial Conference organized by the Furth Family Foundation, University of Michigan and International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). The topic of the Conference was: “Opportunities and Challenges Facing the Judiciary of the 21st Century”

At the invitation of Mr. Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, and Mr. Aleksandër Toma, Chief of Cabinet, took part in the opening ceremony of the new judicial year of the European Court of Human Rights.
