Study and working visits for the year 2016

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Arta Rama- Hajrizi, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Director of Cabinet, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, attended the solemn ceremony of the opening the seventh judicial year of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, which took place in Prishtina, on 26 October 2016. The highest state officials, representatives of accredited diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kosovo, as well as high-level delegations from the Constitutional Courts of the region (Albania, Macedonia, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Montenegro) participated in this ceremony.

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, Dr. Gagik Harutyunyan, two judges of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Fatos Lulo and Mr. Besnik Imeraj, participated in the International Conference of Yerevan.

Upon invitation of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Bekir Bozdağ, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by the Secretary General Mr. Kujtim Osmani, attended the International Istanbul Law Congress on 17-19 October 2016.

Upon the invitation of Dr. Maria Mousmouti, Executive Director of the Center for European Constitutional Law, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed of Secretary General Kujtim Osmani, Director of Cabinet of the President Aleksandër Toma, Legal Adviser to the President Elsa Toska, Heads of Departments Kujtim Sheshi, Alma Çomo and Noela Ruço, and Legal Advisors Fiona Papajorgji and Kaliona Nushi, paid a study visit to this Center in Athens, Greece.

Upon invitation of Association of Constitutional Courts using the French Language ACCPUF – (Association des Cours Constitutionnelles ayant en Partage l’Usage du Francais), a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania consisting of the President of this court, Bashkim Dedja, and Thomaida Xhoxhaj, senior specialist in the Department of Public and International Relations participated in the 8th Conference of Heads of Institutions Member of ACCPUF, that took place in Chisinau, Moldova, from 28 to 30 September 2016.

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia Mag. Miroslav Mozetič, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of the President of the Court Bashkim Dedja and the judge Gani Dizdari, attended the International Conference and other activities organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court of Slovenia.

Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, from 29 – 31 May 2016, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Austria composed of Dr. Gerhart Holzinger, President of the Constitutional Court, Ms. Reinhild Huppmann, Head of Protocol and Department of International Relations, and Ms. Maria Varga, Head of the President’s Office, paid a two-day visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania.

The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bashkim Dedja, and the judges Mrs. Altina Xhoxhaj and Mr. Fatmir Hoxha, as well as Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, and Mr. Aleksandër Toma, Head of the President’s Office, paid a working visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo.

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Zühtü Arslan, the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania Bashkim Dedja, accompanied by Thomaida Xhoxhaj, specialist in the Department of Public and International Relations participated in celebrations of the 54th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, in Ankara from 25 to 29 April 2016.

Upon the invitation of the Constitutional Court of Croatia, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania composed of Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General, Mr. Kujtim Sheshi, Head of the Financial and Human Resources Department, Ms. Kaliona Nushi, Ms. Jonida Kondili and Ms. Fiona Papajorgji, legal advisers to the judges, paid a two-day study visit to the Constitutional Court of Croatia.
