Study and working visits for the year 2017

Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of Romania Prof. Valer Dorneanu, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed of Mr. Fatmir Hoxha, Member of this Court and Mrs. Thomaida Xhoxhaj, Senior Specialist at the Public and International Relations Department, attended the International Conference titled "A quarter of a century of constitutionalism" – an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Romania, which was organized at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest on 24 and 25 May 2017.

Upon invitation of the Furth Family Foundation, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed by Mr. Vladimir Kristo, Judge of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, Director of Cabinet of President, and Mrs. Thomaida Xhoxhaj, Senior Specialist at the Direction of Public and International Relations, attended the 20th Annual International Judicial Conference, which held the proceedings in Paris from 17 to 19 May 2017.

Upon invitation of Mr. Schnutz Rudolf Dürr, Head of the Division for Constitutional Justice of the Venice Commission, Mr. Kujtim Osmani, Secretary General of the Constitutional Court of Albania and Mrs. Noela Ruço, Director of Research, Studies and Publications of the Constitutional Court of Albania, and also liaison officer of the Venice Commission, attended the 16th meeting of the Joint Council on Constitutional Justice of the Venice Commission, who held the proceedings at the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in Karlsruhe on 18-19 May 2017.

Upon invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Alexandru TÃNASE, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Gani Dizdari, Judge, and Mrs. Alma Çomo, Director of the Public and International Relations, attended the International Conference on "Evolution of constitutional control in Europe: lesson learned and new challenges", which took place in Chisinau, Moldova, on 2 – 3 March, 2017.

A delegation of the Constitutional Court of Albania, composed of the Secretary General, Mr. Kujtim Osmani, and the Chief of the Cabinet of President, Mr. Aleksandër Toma, made a two-day working visit to the Constitutional Court of Spain.

Upon invitation of President of the European Court of Human Rights, Mr. Guido Raimondi, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, composed of Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Constitutional Court, and Mrs. Alma Çomo, Director of Public and International Relations, attended the Solemn Opening of the Judicial Year 2017 of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the seminar organized on this occasion, on the theme: “Non-refoulement as a principle of international law and the role of the judiciary in its implementation. " The seminar was followed by two workshops on "Assessing the credibility of asylum seekers: the burden of proof and the ECHR review constraints", and "The reception of migrants: material and procedural warranties for established migrants".
